How does it work?

Identity verification:
Provide your personal details, scan the NFC chip in your ID and take a selfie. We will check your details are correct, if you are a real person and if you are the same person as the one in the ID.

Company verification and authorisation:
After your identity has been verified, you need to provide your organisation’s details and we will check if you are authorised to act on their behalf. We may request a signatory list in the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) to upload an ID document and take a selfie.

Ready to use:
Once the information has been processed, your account is ready to be used and you can log in with government service or insurers. If you need to represent multiple companies, no problem! Simply add more companies through your existing account via our Self-Service Portal (SSP).
Your eHerkenning account with given authorisation is stored safely in your Digidentity wallet.
It is portable and can be used for electronic signatures and other products as well.

How can I register for eHerkenning?
Your authorisation needs to be approved by people who are listed in het Chamber of Commerce (KvK) or by a Company Administrator if the listed signatories have delegated that authority.
What level of assurance do I need for UWV?
Organisations can assign an Administrator and allow them to update company details, view invoices, manage users and purchase services.
Why is eHerkenning level 3 the standard?
In some caes you don’t know the person who will be acting on your behalf and you need to authorise another company. For example, you will authorise your accountancy firm or fulfillment partner instead of assigning an individual person.
