Digidentity introduces eHerkenning without KVK.

Do you need eHerkenning but are not (yet) registered with the Chamber of Commerce (KVK)? We are happy to assist you if your company or organisation is known to the Tax Authorities and has a Dutch tax number (FI number).

To purchase eHerkenning without KVK registration, you only need to bring the following:

A smartphone with internet access.
A valid identification document (passport, driver's license, identity card).
A document proving that you are authorised to represent your company or organisation.

During the registration process, we will contact you and assist you in providing the necessary documentation.

What is eHerkenning?

eHerkenning is essentially a version of DigiD designed for organisations. It serves as a login tool that verifies the following: 'Are you truly who you claim to be, and do you have the authority to log in on behalf of an organisation?' Consequently, individuals must first undergo a process of identification and authorization before they can utilise eHerkenning for their organisation. This identification process is subject to several criteria. Fortunately, with Digidentity, remote identification is available for all levels.

How does it work?

Digidentity verifies a person’s identity through a completely remote process that reads the chip in their passport and uses liveness detection to check that they are a real person all at once.

Create Account

You can get started right away with your eHerkenning registration! What you need is your phone and an identification document, such as your ID card, driver’s license, or passport. Make sure to register for the correct level of eHerkenning. If in doubt, you can use our eHerkenning Selection Guide.

Identification

We can verify your identity completely remotely during your registration, without needing to make an appointment. Simply scan the NFC chip of your identification document and take a selfie. We will immediately verify whether your information is correct.

Payment

During the registration, you can pay immediately via iDEAL, credit card, or bank transfer. You will later receive an invoice or payment receipt via email. If you registered through an invitation from an administrator, the invoice will be sent directly to the organisation.

Providing documentation

As part of the registration for 'eHerkenning without KVK', you will be asked to provide a supporting legal document that confirms the name(s) of the legal representatives of your organisation. Some examples of documentation that can be used include: the articles of association of the organisation; a register of ultimate beneficial owners for the organisation (also known as a "UBO check"); a document from the articles of association that lists the names of the legal representatives; or a document from the Commercial Register in which your organisation is registered.

Authorisation

In order to verify your authority, the application for eHerkenning must always be approved by an authorized representative of the organisation. This can be done via the SSP by a company administrator or with paper authorisation letters also known as Power of Attorney's.

Use right away

Once your request is authorised, your registration will be completed. You can immediately use your new eHerkenning to log in to the desired portal. Simply scan the QR code with your phone and enter your PIN code. No additional hardware is required!

Before you begin the registration process for 'eHerkenning Without KVK', please make sure that you possess the requirements set out in What do I need in order to register for eHerkenning Without KVK?

With regard to eligibility, it is possible for Dutch and non-Dutch, organisations to register for this service for the purpose of accessing the Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst). It is also possible to register if you are an individual who must access this service for the purpose of paying VAT.

What is the cost to register for eHerkenning without KVK?

When registering, it is possible to choose between a 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year subscription for "eHerkenning Without KVK". The pricing for each subscription is as follows:

1-year subscription: €41 (excl. VAT)
3-year subscription: €90 (excl. VAT)
5-year subscription: €149.95 (excl. VAT)

Please note that we charge a one-time document validation fee of €40 for each registration. This fee is the same for each subscription level; and is not included within the pricing specified above.

Payment for this subscription will be processed during registration. Users can choose to pay with a credit card or via iDEAL. If you are registering through the Digidentity Wallet app, you can also process your payment via Apple Pay or Google Pay, depending on your device.

The Dutch Tax Authority will compensate users for the cost of eHerkenning without KVK; however, please liaise with the Dutch Tax Authority directly for more information regarding this. For further information, please follow this link.

Beginning the Registration

To begin the registration process for 'eHerkenning Without KVK', please follow the steps below:

Visit the eHerkenning Without KVK Website
Select 'Register Now'

Creating your Digidentity account

Provide your email address
Create and confirm a password
Accept the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Statement
A confirmation code will then be sent to your email - please fill in this code
Select 'Start the Registration' for the eHerkenning Without KVK service.

As part of the "eHerkenning without KVK" registration process, you will be asked to upload a Letter of Authorisation. This Letter of Authorisation must be filled out by an authorised signatory, who is permitted to act as a legal representative for your entity, to confirm that you are permitted to register for the 'eHerkenning Without KVK' service on their behalf.

This letter can be uploaded by scanning the QR code provided on the Letter of Authorisation via the Digidentity Wallet app. Please be aware that the authorised signatory must upload the letter themselves. Please do not post your Letter of Authorisation to our office, this letter must be uploaded via the Digidentity Wallet app with use of the QR provided on the Letter itself.

When the authorised signatory is submitting the Letter of Authorisation, it is required that an upload of their identity document is also submitted so that their identity may be verified. Please adhere to the following guidelines when uploading your identity document

The identity document provided must belong to the authorised signatory.
The identity document provided must be an original form of the document itself. It is not possible to upload a copy or scan of an identity document.
The identity document uploaded must be in date, and the legal name provided on the identity document must match the name provided by the authorised signatory on the Letter of Authorisation
A photo of the entire identity document page must be taken. Please ensure that the signature placed on the identity document is also visible in your upload.
Pay attention to any glare or light reflection when taking your photo, as all details on the identity document must be visible when being uploaded

Uploading your Selfie for verification

Once the identity document has been scanned successfully, you must then take a selfie so that we may match the identity document provided with the person carrying out the upload. Please adhere to the following guidelines when taking your selfie:

Make sure there is enough light in the room.
Hold your device at eye level so that the angle is similar to the photo on your ID document.
Hold the camera yourself while taking your photos and during the motion-detection that follows.
Stand against a neutral background (such as a blank wall if possible). This will help the camera to focus on your face
Move your head slowly in the direction indicated by the app (if your movement is too fast, it may not be recognised)
Make sure that there are no other people in the image with you for the duration of the process

Once the Letter of Authorisation has been uploaded, one of our Service Desk representatives will contact you directly to arrange for a legal document, confirming the status of the legal representatives of your organisation, to be sent to us for a manual review.

Once this review process has been completed, it will then be possible to proceed with the registration process.
