Service Certificates, such as PKIoverheid (SBR), PKIoverheid (Server), Automotive Authentication (AA), and eDelivery Certificates, are digital certificates used for secure communication and electronic transactions. On this page, you will find information about the different types of theService Certificates.

With a PKIoverheid SBR certificate, you can send confidential and business data through your accounting software or tax package within the government's digital portal, such as the tax administration.
The certificate provides access to the government's digital portal via Standard Business Reporting (SBR). At Digidentity, you can apply for this certificate quickly, easily, and entirely digitally, whenever and wherever it suits you. Our PKIoverheid server certificate falls under the PKIoverheid Private G1 Root.

Automotive authentication certificates provide secure authentication for situations that do not require personal identity verification, like businesses that work with machines that need to connect with applications and services to do their work. This certificate ensures a safe connection between systems.
The Automotive Authentication certificate is specially developed for Solera services. Solera is a leading global provider in data and software for automotive and vehicle lifecycle management.

PKIoverheid Private Server Certificates are digital certificates that verify the identity of servers within the Dutch government. They are issued by a trusted certificate authority (CA) and contain a public key and server information. These certificates ensure secure communication through encryption and digital signatures. When establishing a secure connection, the client verifies the certificate to confirm the authenticity of the server. This process protects against man-in-the-middle attacks and ensures the confidentiality and integrity of data.

eDelivery Certificates, formerly known as ABC-certificates, are essential for secure machine-to-machine communication in the insurance industry. These certificates are installed on machines, enabling secure and standardized message exchange. The messages contain crucial information about policies, payments, and claims.
Each year, millions of messages are exchanged, allowing eDelivery certificates to create a secure and efficient communication layer in the insurance sector. (Starting in 2025, we will simplify the issuance process through the user-friendly Digidentity Self Service Portal.)

In addition to Service Certificates, Digidentity also offers personal signature certificates, eSeal certificates, professional certificates, and more. Digidentity currently does not provide code signing certificates, trial certificates, or email security certificates (S/MIME)
